Today all of my managed users disappeared. i updated PMS with the hope that that would fix it but after the update they are still gone. When i login i only have my account and the guest account. I know the users should exist since i see those usernames show in the viewing history log. Please someone help, i don’t want to recreate them and i don’t want their viewing progress lost.
Have you looked under Manage Library Access for the Users?
You can edit those Users from there by just clicking on them individually
It looks like you have linked some device of the Vizio brand to your Plex account.
This device somehow removed you from your own Plex Home, deleting all managed users in the process.
I will file a request to restore, but I can’t make any promises.
Do you remember what you did or were asked immediately after adding the new TV?
Further analysis shows that each of the users has been deleted individually. All from the user interface of that new TV.
Thanks for the analysis, one of my family members added that to the account (not sure who yet) they must have just thought they were removing the accounts from showing on their tv. Is there any hope that you will be able to restore them or should i just go ahead and start over from scratch.
Pretty sure managed users are stored locally in your plex db. If you have a previous backup you could restore that which (should) restore the users and their data.
However, you’d lose other data (watched status etc…) updated since the last time a db backup was done so its something you’d need to weigh up.
I haven’t done a backup of that server in who knows how long… guess i’m screwed. i never thought that far in advance.
Plex does auto db backups but I see @BigWheel typing so will leave it to them to respond 
They are not.
Unfortunately managed accounts are deleted immediately and cannot be restored. When our back end devs looked at logs seems they were individually deleted one after another on a Vizio TV.

Is there any way to prevent users from being removed in the future?
Just looking that and may be a way in the smart tv apps that can’t be prevented is someone else in Plex Home decides to delete them. (which I will report to team)
There are a few steps so I don’t think could not have been done accidentally but possibly someone thought they were only removing user from app because they wanted to bypass user switcher. (which they can do by enabling auto login)
@dinomight if you put a PIN on your Plex Home admin account then it should ask for that PIN if someone tries to delete.
