Hello, my brother is staying with us, so I invited him to my Plex server (Lifetime Pass). I noticed for some reason his name has a crown, like an admin, which made no sense but doesn’t matter. However, I inadvertently clicked his name on the user select screen, on my iPad Plex app, and it said something bout noticing he has access to multiple servers. However, I now seem to have no way of getting back to the user select screen to pick my own account. I went to the web UI, logged in as myself, then clicked open Plex, and it still goes to my brother’s account (on a User selection screen that just shows his account or guests) with no option to get to my own account. I’ve force quit the app, looking in iPadOS Settings for Plex, and see no way around this issue except maybe to delete the app and log in that way?
We’ll probably need to get some more clarity to get this sorted…
Did you simply share libraries of yours, adding him as a Friend – or did you invite him into your Plex Home?
If you signed him into your iPad using his account while he’s “just a friend”, there’s no fast-user-switching (which would explain why you saw the “admin” crown next to his account).
You only get to see the fast-user-switching if they’re a member of your Plex Home (this won’t do for users who have their own servers as there can only be 1 admin in a Plex Home!).
Assuming your brothers simply signed into your iPad… there should also be an option for him to sign-out via his account icon.
Thank you! To be sure, I invited him to my home, not as a regular friend. However, I’m also now sorted. Apparently I must have logged in as my brother when I was testing his account. I didn’t realize that when I accidentally selected his name, I was already logged in, so once I clicked his name a second time, it took me into Plex. I had assumed I wasn’t logged in yet, since for some reason it had me pick his name a second time. So, once into Plex as him, I simply logged him out and I am all set now. Thanks much!
