Have been using the Plex app on my FireTV stick for about 18 months.
When i first started using Plex upon starting the app I was presented with my own library and list of the recent films I’d been watching but not finished, that could be resumed, which was PERFECT.
But about 6 months ago there was some change where the Plex app now seems to prioritise streaming services (which I don’t use) to my own stored content. WHY? I want to see my content, not a load of stuff i’m not interested in.
So now when i launch the app to get to my own content and resume a film I have a ridiculous amount of clicks (and no, I don’t want to add a one-off movie to a watchlist just in case I don’t finish viewing it in one session).
First on the homescreen i need to select “… more”
Then select my server
Then scroll down my library list (often the library titles are randomly duplicated)
Open a particular library and scroll through 100’s of items to find what i was watching.
Is this is a bug or is there something broken with the UI/config?
Also, from the app, go to Settings (should be at the bottom of the left menu where the sources are pinned) and then under Experience make sure that “Remember Selected Tab” is set to On.
That should help with most of your issues. Not really sure about number 3.
Also, when you set up the app, it should have asked you which is your preferred server (or something similar to that). Not sure how to set that afterwards, but from the left menu, if you highlight “Home” and then move to the left to highlight the 3 vertical dots and click that, you can reset all customizations which should allow you to go through the initial setup again and select your server as the preferred one. That should then show you your libraries by default on the home screen (the ones you pinned) and there will a continue watching section at the top with either movies you haven’t finished or TV shows you are currently watching (either episodes you haven’t finished or the next episode up if there is one).
Worst case, if you can’t get the preferred server set, is to delete the data for the Plex app and then when you go back in, it will be like it was initially installed and then you should see that prompt.
