[UI Suggestion] Option to Hide “Live TV” & “On Demand” Tabs in Regions Where They’re Not Supported

Hi Plex team :waving_hand:

Loving the new Experience Preview — UI feels smooth and responsive!

However, I’d like to suggest a small but important UX improvement:

In the Middle East region (and some others), the “Live TV” and “On Demand” tabs appear permanently in the bottom navigation bar — even though these features are not supported in our region.

They’ve been inactive for years, and keeping them visible adds unnecessary clutter for international users like me. It also breaks the immersion a bit when the experience includes features that are non-functional.

Suggestion:

  • Add a toggle in settings to hide unsupported tabs like “Live TV” or “On Demand”
  • OR return to the previous behavior where these tabs would only appear when the user is physically in a supported country

This would really help make the UI cleaner and more region-aware.

Thanks for considering this! :folded_hands:

Set everything to Disabled.

Thanks for the link!

Just to clarify — I believe the setting you shared is for Discover metadata sources and external streaming integrations. It doesn’t control the visibility of the “Live TV” and “On Demand” tabs in the main navigation bar.

My suggestion is specifically about hiding or removing those two tabs in regions where those features aren’t supported at all (like the Middle East). As of now, they appear permanently and lead to empty pages.

Still appreciate the help!

I can’t test it myself anymore as I rolled back to the legacy version of the app and disabled updates but this should be the correct solution. What sits under General has nothing to do with Discover and external Streaming Services. It is exactly what you are looking for. Just disable Live TV and Movies & Shows, no need to disable anything else.

It does.

  • General
    • Live TV
    • Movies & Shows
