Hide items on Home Screen in “new experience”

I don’t want to see “on demand” “live tv” “popular shows” or any of that. I use plex primarily with my young child.

I don’t want them opening it up to watch something that’s appropriate for them and then suddenly they are clicking on something wildly inappropriate, or something that we don’t know about.

I’ve tried to create a kids account but they still have access to popular shows and things i have absolutely no interest in my kid having access to, and downloads are buried in a submenu so it’s less intuitive for them to locate the downloads when traveling.

I had everything set up how I wanted and then this new experience has taken away my control.

All I want to see are my libraries, and easy access to my downloads.

If you don’t mind them being removed account-wide, visit this link and set Live TV, Movies & Shows, and Discover Source to “Disabled.” Then fully close and reopen the Plex app on your device(s).

As mentioned, this turns those features off everywhere; with the new apps there’s not currently a way to just disable them locally.

Thanks so much! This is really helpful. None of us use those features as we use plex to watch our own stuff. I didn’t know these settings were in there. Thanks again!

You’re welcome, glad it helped!
