A notification has come up today saying no external media can be found. I’ve updated to the latest version of Plex, however, it’s now saying that the connection is not secure. I am unable t access the server using the path suggestions on the help article (loads indefinitely), and remote access also seems to be turned off.

Hi again, quick update, despite having upnp, I had to set up manual port forwarding and that has fixed the access to media seemingly. Unfortunately I am shut down for the night now so can’t test casting. I will try and test casting early tomorrow and I will check remote access as soon as I can and update.
If you need to set up manual port forwarding and the settings in plex, it is fairly easy however I am happy to talk you through (despite not being techy). Send a message if you like.

I am having this same problem. I went through the steps in the support article below to get back into my server below but this did not solve the issue. This also happened to me after updating my server a few days ago.
I still haven’t managed to get remote access to work, however, it seems to be working locally for now.
To fix it I uninstalled the windows security update from yesterday, restarted the computer and then turned off all firewalls before trying to install the Plex update again. I had to install it by downloading the file rather than updating through the Microsoft store. I suspect Windows Security may have prevented some of the required files from installing.
AM update; No casting at all, Plexamp has a red pop-up that says it can’t connect (or similar). Plex android app fails to connect the first time, on second attempt it thinks it’s connected and shows cast as normal but sound comes out of my device still instead of where I am casting. I haven’t checked remote yet will check this in a bit. Can anybody cast at all?

Update; I’ve just had an email from Google saying they are having issues with certain Chromecast devices… It seems possible that this is not a Plex issue? I will keep updating.

Have you tried uninstalling the most recent windows update and disabling the firewall before reinstalling the plex update?
I got it to work locally by doing that. Still haven’t sorted out the remote access side though…
