Unable to access plex when 2 servers are connected to the same router

I have a bit of a strange problem and I cant seem to resolve it at all. The setup is a wee bit complicated but nothing surely for you cats.

I have 2 machines… one running windows and the other one on a ubuntu 18.04 headless server. Both are connected to the same router. I have a static ip and port forwarding for all the apps.

For the headless server I have all the webui softwares in a docker as containers. All of the softwares are opening up. They have been installed through docker-compose.yml. My problem solely rests with Plex.

I am accessing the 2 machines through a laptop. I cannot get rid of the windows machine as it is what has everything. In the ubuntu server I have port forwarded plex into 35400 and also installed the claim token. The installation is getting completed successfully and MYSTATICIP:35400 opens up but the server is not connecting. I am unable to add anything in my library. It says Server is not installed. Neither Organizr nor Tautulli gets connected. Tautulli says Server found cannot connect Websocket.

The docker installation for Plex states that for the first run ssh tunneling will be required if the claim token is not established during installation. I have entered the claim token but I still tried running ssh tunnelling and it says localhost authenticity could not be established; the port I am using is 35400.

What could be the issue and how can I get the Ubuntu server plex to run. Please do help. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by “into” here. The internal port for Plex is 32400 and can’t be something else. You can only set a different external port in your port forwarding which you also enter in the manually specify port field. When on local network you would need to use localIP:32400

Ok my bad with the wordings. I have externally port forwarded plex to 35400 in Ubuntu 18.04 and using 32400 as the internal port. I am trying to access the webui with the external port on a new account in the same router where the server is not getting recognised.

The windows machine is on the same router but on a different local ip but with 32400 as its port. The new account webui is also opening up with MYSTATICIP:35400 but it cannot seem to recognise or connect as a server… I cannot obviously have both of them connect with MYSTATICIP: 32400.

So in your docker file you have:

-p 35400:32400/tcp \

No… not with the -p switch.
Its ports: - “35400:32400/tcp” and also the other ports (3005:3005/tcp 8324:8324/tcp and 32469:32469/tcp) with the indentations of course.

Ok… I think that is what I have done… many syntax available for the same thing
