Unable to add audio files

I can add videos all day long, but my server won’t recognize a single new audio file. What’s going on?

Would you mind sharing some more details?
e.g. library details (type, agent…), actual folder structure / file names, what type of audio are we talking about (e.g. mp3, aac, flac…)

Sure. I have a folder called “000 MASADA” with some 30 subfolders inside, each with ten or so mp3s in each. They all work perfectly.

But I got a new album, so I created a new folder, saved the new mp3s inside. And PLEX doesn’t even recognize it. I’ve restarted. rescanned, Everything I can think of. Nothing.

And videos? No trouble at all.

only a little…

  • what’s the name of the folder that doesn’t show?
  • have you checked if the new files show up as duplicates of others by accident (this could e.g. happen if you use embedded metadata and those mp3s have misleading tags)

could you try the following:

  1. move the folder out of “000 MASADA”
  2. re-scan the library
  3. empty the trash of that Plex library
  4. return the folder
  5. re-scan the library
    afterwards… wait approx. 1 min, go to Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting in Plex Web and download the logs in order to attach them here.
