Unable to add manual connection in iOS app while Android app works fine

Player Version#: iOS 5.18

I’ve tried add manual connection to the Android plex app and it worked fine.
However when I try to add it into the iOS app, it seems the app is trying to verify the connection for a while and then prompt me with ERROR CODE: 401, and says unable to connect to server with the information provided.
It seems the difference is that Android app doesn’t verify the connection while the iOS app verifies that before adding. And the verification process in iOS is somehow broken so it prevents me to add connection to my server manually.
Could some one advise what I can do to add that manual connection to the iOS app? Thanks.
