Unable to change email address from the accounts menu

Hi, I have been attempting to change the email address associated with my account as it is an alias @outlook.com and for some reason I never receive the verification from plex, I am able to receive emails ok, as I received several today on the alias address.

However I would like to change it to my main @outlook.com address , but when I update it, input the password, it just displays the following error:

Is there another way to change the email address, or am I doing something wrong?

@schuyler Hi, I noticed you helped another user a while ago with a similar issue - unable to change email address used for the Plex account.

Changing to another Microsoft-operated email address won’t solve the issue.
Microsoft has some filters in place which either suppress or delay mail from Plex.

Your best course of action is to use a different email domain.

If that is not possible, check if there is already another plex account using your main email address.
Send me your main email per PM and I can look that up for you.

Thanks, as you suggested I changed my email address to an icloud.com domain and I was able to receive the varification emails ok.

I checked and I was able to to receive Plex emails a while ago, I’ve raised a support ticket with MS, I’ll see if i get a reply :slight_smile:

  1. delete this account
  2. wait 1 month
  3. change the email address of your current main account, if you still desire
