Unable to change email tied to account - An unknown error occurred

I’ve been trying to change the email tied to my account without luck - I keep getting “An unknown error occurred”. I have a lifetime Plex Pass. I tried emailing plexpass@plex.tv yesterday to request a change to a new email, but then had to delete that email account. This was before I realized I could do it myself in the account page. Now every time I try to change the email address I just keep getting “An unknown error occurred”. I really need to change the email, any advice?

plexpass support was able to reset my email address. Account username and email information must be unique. So, if you create an account that uses [EMAIL1], then you would not be able to use that address on another Plex account (at least without first changing it to something else, thus “freeing it up”). My mistake was creating a new email, then registering it with Plex.tv, THEN trying to use it to replace my existing email.

“Account is already registered” would have been a better error instead of “An unknown error occurred”.
