Can't change email address

I have a lifetime plex pass account linked to an email address that I will soon no longer have access to

I have created a new gmail.com email address but I get an error message saying ‘An unknown error occurred’ when i try to update my email in plex.

The new gmail.com email address has two dots in it, so it’s like the following:
xxxxxxxx.xx.xxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com

I think the two dots are tripping up the change.

How can I get this email address changed?

Have you tried to connect your plex account to the google account directly instead?

This is a different thing than changing your email address. It adds the Google login as an additional way to authenticate.

Okay so I tried signing up with the gmail address but when I logged in to Plex all I saw was a new account, so I deleted the profile.

Now when I try to change my original account from my existing email to me new gmail address it says “Email has already been taken”.

Would someone at plex be able to manually change my account email address to my new gmail address?

If you created a new account and then deleted it, the email address associated with this account is not usable for one month after the deletion.

I accept that, but in a month’s time we’ll be back in exactly the same position where I can’t change the email address on my main Plex account as it gives an ‘unknown error’ message.

So either way it’ll require a manual change from someone at Plex?

I’m having this same issue.. I had my Gmail Email linked to my lifetime Plex account.. now that Gmail account is no longer active I cannot sign in automatically..so I don’t know the pw..Chris at Plex support keeps emailing to “change my email” under account settings.. but the problem is I can’t even log in to make that change.. now what??

So I’ve tried to change it again to my new email address and I’m still getting the same ‘uknown error’ message.

What is the process for opening a ticket to get my account manually updated?

I, myself cannot make the requested change.

I have access to my account michael@mjware.dk, but I’m not able to change my admin password to another email. I also get til “An unknown error occured”.
I have 2-factor enable. I have unlink my google account. michael@mjware.dk is a google account and as Google is planning to migrate all G-Suite Legacy account into paid account, I have to move aware.

If there is no user name, create one (user name must be globally unique among all plex.tv users). Then try to change the email address again.
