Unable to connect properly via app.plex.tv

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2527-740d4c206

Hey guys,

I have a pretty weird problem. I’ve been fumblin’ with the server for quite a while and I have no idea where I’m mislead, coming back from Emby. I’d like to make sure everything is set up properly, prior to have hundreds of TB scanned.

If I access the server via http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html#! everything is fine, Tidal is shown, Plex VOD is working and all is well (as I said I didn’t scan my media yet). If I connect via app.plex.tv none of that is shown and I’d get errors for the ‘home’ page, Plex VOD and Tidal. Please see the screenshots as they show better what I’m talking about.

I even created a new Plex account (this one) to make sure nothing of the old servers are remaining and deleted every trace of PMS (afaik) and even purchased a new yearly subscription with another account, even though I had some months left on my old Plex account.

Is there a way to completely wipe every trace of earlier PMS instances?

I deleted Plex Data folder, deleted the registry settings and uninstalled PMS, but I think there’s something left of the old Servers (and the ones I’ve been trying to run in the past 8 hours).

Could anybody help? @OttoKerner, you always helped me so much, do you have any idea and could maybe have a look into my setup? :sob:

I know that there’ve been issues with Tidal subscriptions and linking, but nothing seems to help to get it working from the generic link :slightly_frowning_face:.

I just need to know whether I can start scanning and actually add media. I’d really like not to have everything scanned, just to find I need to do it again :crying_cat_face:

Kind regards

André

What kind of browser is this? Does it use any add-ins or settings to improve privacy? Disable them and try again.

Otto…you’re my Hero!!

I was using Chrome Beta for god knows which reason and switching back to stable Chrome already did the trick. I freaking love you man!

@OttoKerner could you help me with an old problem as well? I remember that adding “plex.direct” to the DNS rebind protection in the fritz router resolves the problem with the server being seen not locally, so I did that. Is there something I’ve forgotten over the years? It’s not showing as “local”, if I access Plex via app.plex.tv.

Very kind regards to wherever in Germany you are. Stay safe!

EDIT: Resolved. Rebooting PMS and Router did the trick <3
