Unable to Connect Securely

Server Version#: 1.41.2.9200
Player Version#: 10.24.0.2257
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

WHAT I HAVE:
-Nvidia Shield connected to gateway via ethernet.

-Xfinity internet with 150Mbps down and 20Mbps up.

-ISP provided gateway that doesn’t allow manual port forwarding.

-DHCP in the shield network settings.

-Shield has been given a static IPv4 IP address in the gateway.

-IPv6 off in the shield network settings and plex server settings.

-No double NAT, single public IP address.

-UPnP on in the gateway.

-Gateway firewall security set to minimum (default).

-Xfinity advanced security features deactivated.

PROBLEM:
When i use the web app to manage my server it disconnects and gives a “Unable to connect securely” warning. It usually resolves itself after a few minutes but it happens frequently.

Local playback works fine for the most part but does disconnect occasionally. I don’t attempt a lot of local playback so my sample size is limited.

I mostly use remote access to play media and its almost unusable. Streams usually disconnect within 5 minutes of starting playback and it takes several minutes to reestablish a connection. This happens most of the time and only on occasion can i complete an episode without interruption.

THINGS I’VE TRIED:
-Tried both options on the server’s “Secured connection” setting.

-Tried all three options on the “Allow insecure connections” setting on the client.

-I’ve tried letting plex configure remote access automatically and this almost always fails.

-I’ve tried manually specifying the public port on the server. This works better but inconsistently.

-I’ve tried disabling and re-enabling UPnP on my gateway.

-I’ve tried disabling the gateway firewall.

-I’ve tried pre-optimizing my media beforehand.

-I’ve tried all sorts of different combinations of bitrate limits on both the server and the client side.

QUESTION:
So far nothing i tried has worked and to be honest im more confused than ever about which settings are actually supposed to be on or off at this point. Can someone please explain to me how to set up plex like im a five year old? I really need some help.

I’ve seen some people get new security certificates around here. I don’t know if im a candidate for that or if its something else. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Thanksgiving :turkey:.
