Unable to connect the Plex Media Server... Sonos, music [another variation on problems posted by others]

Hi. I’ve been using Plex successfully to stream video from my home PC (as the server) to my house TVs. No problem. Then I tried using Plex to stream music from my home PC (as the server) to my Sonos speakers. This usually starts OK (i.e., it plays the first song in an album without problems), but then when it gets to the next song in the album I get an error message saying “Unable to connect the Plex Media Server…Unable to play “song x” - the connection to Plex was lost…”). I can’t figure out the problem. I’ve tried everything I can think of including reinstalling the Plex app, reinstalling the Sonos app, and re-scanning my music library with Plex.

To be clear, Plex can “see” all the albums and songs (mp3s) on my PC library. It just can’t play most of them. Typically, if I keep clicking on a given song, the error messages eventually stop and the song plays. But this is way too difficult. There has to be a fix, and I’m just missing something.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

David
