Unable to connect to server from android or samsung TV

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2468-5d395aa9d
Player Version#: Latest

Hello,

I am using a ATT BGW210-700 and a TP Linkys Archer C7 router (for a work network server). I just installed Plex and was able to successfully create a static IP and connect with plex for outside my network.

My problem: I am unable to see my server on my samsung tv and my android. both apps are telling me the server is offline. I can play the movie files from my home computer using Plex in my browser but nothing from a seperate device.

What am i missing here?

Update- Seems i can see my files on my android device if I’m not on wifi, how do i get past this besides hardwiring into my samsung tv?

Can you explain your network setup with more details? Sounds like your TV and Android device are connected to a different network from your server.

I can try but no means a master wizard.

I have a ATT BGW210-700 router for my ISP, I then have a second router Archer C7 Linkys installed in my office. My ISP router is wired throughout the house, the ISP is connected through the house for each room. I have a wired line coming from my office wall (ISP), running into my office router (C7). My PC/Ip phone is directly connected to the office C7 router, my office PC servers as my base of operations which Plex server is running on.

The reason i have a seperate router in my office is due to the fact that i work from home and have to use an IP phone, my IT department couldn’t get it to work properly on my ISP router so thus the reason why i have two routers.

So basically I’m working through a double NAT. So i created a static IP on my PC adapter settings, i then created a port forward from the Archer C7 router and did the same on the ISP router. When i click on remote access in settings in Plex, i receive the message “Fully accessible outside your network”.

Things that work so far:
Main PC/Server on my office computer. No issues
Android device only works if Wifi is off and works great.

Things that don’t work:
Samsung UN55JU7000 does not work at all, cannot find server
PS4 does not work at all but i can see content but fails to play and freezes.

Almost seems to be a wifi issue? My speeds are around 600mb on wireless, hardlined im getting 1gb.

Ok, since your server is on that second router and your other devices are connecting to the ISP router, they cannot get past your office router to find your server. It would work the other way around. i.e. Having your server on the ISP router and your devices connected to your office router.

The solution I can think of for this would be to get a switch. Have your office router connect to this and leave your IP phone connected to the office router. Move your server to connect to the switch. Done, your clients should be able to your server and you avoid the double NAT so you can get rid of those rules and just have 1 from the ISP router.
