When accessing my PMS via https://app.plex.tv/desktop I have the error “Unable to connect to “SHIELD Android TV” securely”.
When accessing via https://LOCALIP:32400/web I get a certificate error, which I’m able to ignore, and then I’m able to get access.
I have the same issue on a Android tablet (v10.14.0.541), but for some reason I have no issue on a Android phone (v10.14.0.541).
Im having the same sort of issue. Plex was playing up recently, after working well for years. Ive reinstalled it on my nvidia shield and now it cant connect to the server because it may not be secure. Despite trying and trying im about to give up on plex
I was hoping someone from Plex would be able to help with this since if it is a certificate issue, they are the only one who can help. Not sure if there’s another way to contact them…
Mention that you experience a similar issue. Hopefully this will gain some traction and a fix will be found. For some users a certificate reset has solved their issues, but not for everyone.
Got my PC working by using the Windows Plex client instead of the URL
Got my tablet working by split tunneling my VPN and excluding Plex. Don’t know why my phone doesn’t require this as it uses the same vpn but I’m glad it is solved.
