Unable to display long playlists, Recently Added, or Artists in Android Auto

They should just open-source the code so the community can fix it. It’d probably get done in a snap.

Same issue here, why developers don’t even comment? Ridiculous…

Crickets from Plex staff as normal.

I have a long road trip coming up, would be great if this was working… How long has this been broken? @elan

7.11 …7.21 same point

I gave up on using Plex via Android auto. I just use Bluetooth connection from phone to car dinner this integration seems abandoned.

This is what happens in AA with Plex for Android 7.22.0.12524-beta version

Android Auto Rest In Peace

thanks to @ManuelPG
this last issue is solved
the old remain

Which issue was that?

This is really annoying for at least a couple reasons.

First, the issue has gone unaddressed for more than a year. All I have seen in review of this thread is passing the buck to Google. Well, if the API is throwing an error saying the list is too long, deal with it! Don’t just leave the wheel spinning like it is working on something. It’s quite reasonable that Google has limits set on list lengths. Navigating a long list is not something that fits the “safe use” goal of AA. So maybe, if the error is thrown, just give is the play options - in series, or random.

Second, this is one of those Plex Pass Only features that people are paying for. Its not like we’re wining about something we’re getting for free. We’re contributing! Come on Plex!

personally the case of long lists has never convinced me now I do not know how many albums you have I currently have 738.
Just buy the Yatse app at the cost of 4 coffee, connect it to the Plex server, open AA browse to the “album” folder and everyone will appear as I had already reported in March.

As for the paused song, the case is even more curious:
last December I reported this anomaly on the resume track

https://youtu.be/-okEsdj12ac

Well the anomaly has been solved … removing the paused song altogether

Now you understand how much I can be perplexing about the developers’ explanations …

Interesting option. Gave Yatse a quick look, but didn’t actually go so far as to pay. On of the things about Plex is that I can Sync all my 5-star music and play that without using cellular data. If there any support in Yatse for keeping offline cache?

Thanks for the tip on Yatse. I just paid for it to try it out. Google Play Music works, but I am not a fan of duplicating my music library in Google’s cloud (and thereby giving them my info.).

I am interested in streaming I know there is the possibility of downloading but I don’t know if you can select the songs in AA.
You can ask in the official forum Tolriq is very helpful

Yatse has other small problems (miniatures, incorrect timing) but it is certainly more usable than Plex.
I don’t even consider GPM because I can’t search for artists and albums

It’s certainly worth the $3.59 (US) I paid. The fact I can access my Plex music through AA is a big improvement.

Still expereriecing the same issue with Plex & AA after updating Android from 9 to 10. I was not hopping that this fix the issue but was expecting a minimum of improvement. None of this happen. I really start thinking that Plex abandon this feature for Tidal for an obscure reason. Nothing to to with this post and it is just my thought but i would be surprise that they change there subsciption base modele people like me who have PlexPass for life lost that feature. I have see move like tat in the pass so that would explain Tidal. But that just my personal thought.

This is still an issue
