Do yourself a favor and don’t. Since install, Plex on Apple TV won’t connect to the server. No I can’t connect on a Samsung Smart TV. And cannot open Plex from inside Synology. No other setting changes to anything.
Actually I’ve upgraded multiple times since and it’s worked just fine. I use Plex server running on Synology and my primary client is on my AppleTV. I copied a script on to my Synology that checks every night for a new version of Plex and updates if it exists.
The only issue I’ve had is that sometimes when it auto installs I’ve had to stop and restart the Plex service on the Synology. Because even though it says it’s running I’m unable to connect. But once it starts again I don’t have any issues.
