I use a VPN that supports split tunneling, and when I have the VPN enabled with Plex Media Server excluded from the VPN I cannot edit or add libraries - clicking Add Library brings up a window where I can select the library type but can’t proceed past that and Language drop down menu is empty and I can’t select Add folders or Advanced while clicking Edit Library brings up the General tab but again the Language drop down menu is empty and I can’t select Add folders or Advanced or do anything else.
This only seems to be an issue when split tunneling is enabled and Plex Media Server is included in the split tunneling. If Chrome (my browser) is also included in the split tunneling along with Plex, then the Plex server is not accessible via 127.0.0.1 at all with the following error message: *http://127.0.0.1:32400/myplex/launch?X-Plex-Token=local-197e5be0-eda7-4baa-ab18-8e01dd925dcd It is still accessible via the PC’s IP, but I can’t sign in.
With Chrome excluded from split tunneling, Plex Media Server is accessible both via the PC’s IP and the 127.0.0.1 loopback IP, but I can’t edit or add libraries.
With Plex Media Server excluded from split tunneling - and thus going through the VPN along with everything else - I can add and edit libraries the same as with the VPN disabled, but then Remote Access is disabled.
It appears this issue has been present at least since server version 1.32.8.7621 as garfnodie had the exact same issue back in November 2023 here: Unable to edit or add libraries when VPN is enabled
