“Unable to find client profile” errors on LG Smart TVs, Long Pause Before Playback

also experiencing this error: Unable to find client profile for device; platform=webOS, platformVersion=4.1.0, device=, model=OLED55B8STB

Docker PMS version: 1.16.2.1297

multiple repeat errors are causing the playback to buffer

Also getting my log flooded with these:

Unable to find client profile for device; platform=webOS, platformVersion=4.1.0, device=, model=OLED55C8PJA

I would appreciate some method of supressing them if they are irrelevant as noted above.

Same error:

ERROR - Unable to find client profile for device; platform=webOS, platformVersion=4.1.0, device=, model=65SK8000PLB

Using native LG Plex client, lots of buffering. I’ve noticed that PMS uses 100% disk whenever this specific client is streaming:

This disk usage goes on until the playback fails. Here is the disk stats for the identical media file being streamed using PMP on a Windows 10 PC:

Note that both PMP on PC and the LG Plex client are direct playing the files, no transcoding going on whatsoever.

Yes, it actually seemed to disappear for me and then resurfaced!

For me the webOS app is referencing the “Web” profile which seems to always encode and only gives me 2 channel aac audio despite the app and hardware being fully dolby 5.1 compatible. only occurring in the latest beta release 1.18.0.1913 hopefully they will put back what is missing in the next one.

My logs are full of this error as well. It looks like each time the TV polls plex the error gets thrown. I also experience occasional buffering over the local network while direct streaming (even very low bitrate video), which is frustrating but I don’t know if it is at all related to this.

Firstly the profile is HTML. Have you checked your TV app settings/Audio.

Tv and app settings haven’t changed. it supports DD but not DTS but seemingly with any transcode it falls back to 2 channel aac rather than ac3 as part of the transcode. seems to be slightly better with the recent releases but is still

Cheers
