However I did not manage to get it working… Any advice?
Trailers, extra’s etc all done. Plex has access to these folders as its a drive used only by plex…
Literally everything that should be set up is… yet nadda…
Sure, I added it to the preroll box using a folder path to the folder where the prerolls will be kept, so aiming to get it to just play random preroll. For this the path was inputted in the same manner it would be on Plex, this folder isn’t added as a library though.
Path was typed in as ‘B:/prerolls/’
This is the same drive where /TV etc is. So permissions should be fine.
I did try with just one mp4 within the path too, in that case just adding /preroll.mp4
Plex wants you to identify individual videos… not an entire folder. You can point to a single file or a list of files… depending on how you separate those files (comma or semi-colon), they will play in sequence or Plex picks a random video from that list.
To specify a pre-roll video, simply enter the full path to the file (e.g. /Users/sarah/Movies/preroll.mp4 ). You can also specify multiple videos; how you specify them will determine how they behave:
Separate videos with a comma : all specified pre-roll videos will be played sequentially:
Do you have Enable Cinema Trailers checked in the advanced settings of that movie library? Even if you have set Settings > Plex Web > Player > Cinema Trailers to Play Before Movies set to None (similar trailer related settings exist in all/most other players as well)…
First I created a folder named Pre-Roll in my Plex Media folder and put my mp4 file in it. So, I’m on a Qnap and the way I figured out the correct path was to go to my install on the qnap opened up the Media server ap and looked at where Qnap put a movie when I set it up (and added the rest in the extras admin section) :/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Plex Media/Pre-Roll/mp4 file.
Hope this helps for all those that forgot the path. Should work for ANY install.
