Unable to get remote access working

Hi-

I am unable to get remote access working with a direct connection. It does work on Plex relay with a slow connection. When I am on a device on the same network as the server everything works fine. I have PMS set up on a Synology NAS. I have port 32400 forwarded in my router to the NAS. Plex is returning this message " Fully accessible outside your network" on the remote access page. I have verified on portchecker.co that my port is open. I have a static IP set up with my ISP and they have told me everything is set up correctly on their end. They said I do not have a Double NAT. When I log into my router, the WAN address -10.23.100.233- is different than my static ip address. Not sure what else I can try… any help would be much appreciated.

Server Version#: 4.34.4
System time
Player Version#: 7.8.1

If your outermost (ISP provided) router is telling you its WAN address is 10.23.100.233
then they are forcing a NAT on everyone. (Small ISPs and condo buildings often do this to save public ports).

I would start contacting folks (in path sequence from you to the internet) and ask what it would take to get a real public IP address.

Most commercial ISPs will provide this but will charge a small monthly fee to do it.

If you’re in a building with shared access, you’ll need speak to the building folks first.
It’s common for internet to be shared through a single connection and DHCP provided by the building IT team.

Normal Carrier Grade NAT (CG-NAT) uses 100.64.x.x by defaut)

Thanks for the response Chuck. Is there any way to get around the CG-NAT? What is the purpose of the static ip they set up for me? It’s $15/month.

Thanks

what is the arrangement there and who is the provider?

How closely did I approximate the topology?

Real ISP -> Building router -> Building -> Your router -> You

?

The provider is https://ewfiber.com/

Your topology is correct. I am in a high rise building in chicago with a single LAN port in my unit.

I paid for a static IP with my ISP and they tell me it is not a CG-NAT which I find hard to believe.
