Plex media server is now using 9gb of storage on my nvidea shield Pro and I want to move it to my USB ssd. However, in the plex media server row in the settings there are no storage locations to select even though I have a 2tb ssd set as removable storage and a 1tb drive set as device storage. How do I get plex to recognise my storage and move it? Thanks.
If the Shield properly shows those drives, then PMS should see it too. However, PMS checks for available drives when it starts. Your drives may not have been ready then so they are not listed. Stop and restart PMS will recheck for drives.

OK sussed it,
First picture shows the drive configuration,
Second picture shows that plex has created a folder on one of the drives.
The plex screenshot shows that nothing is select able under the plex media server tab so am unable to allocate storage
Did you try to restart your Shield?
If so, can you check if your Plex server is correctly working when these settings aren’t available (and precisely at that moment)?
The only times I get no option here is when the server is buggy and only a restart could fix it. Don’t know if this is the problem causing this but it may be.
Your last image would imply Plex Media Server isn’t running. So I’m not sure how you are able to access it to play content.
Yes I have tried that a few times but it doesn’t help .
Also tried different drive configurations and starting from scratch.
All content plays fine, even got the lyrics working.
Can’t load all my media though due to low storage.
Could you upload the server’s logs please?

This has become an issue for the Nvidea Shield based Plex servers. Sometimes that option comes back and other times it does not.
I’m on my ~3rd retry in about 2 weeks and will likely make a post soon about how the Shield installation has become SLOW and buggy.

You don’t have debug logging enabled, so there isn’t enough info to know what’s going on. However, there are a few things logged that may explain some things.

Sounds like maybe something going on with your network.
I will attempt to turn it on and re upload them in a few days. Thanks for looking. I was wondering if it’s something stupid like my drives being over 256 GB. It says somewhere on the Plex site it supports drives up to that size.
To be honest I was really happy with Plex on the shield but since re installing everything in an effort to get the lyrics working the memory usage has shot up Mainly using it as a music server now as video uses so much Shield memory even with options turned off. Beginning to think the lifelong pas was a waste!

Dont know whether you are still interested but the only way i could sort this with the lack of help on here was to do a factory reset on the shield and start over. On a clean install the option to allocate storage is there, however as soon as you make any changes to plex this option disapears . I did about 3 resets before i got it how i wanted and everything was sweet for a while but now on the music it will only play one track at a time. One thing after another…
Multiple other threads have been created about this issue. Seems to be widespread. Any news on a fix to make the Plex Media Server options show up again (and not just the header)?
Same problem here mate, don’t expect any help on here, no one bothered to reply or attempt to help me on my last post. Regret paying for lifetime pass as none of the extra features now work.
I have got the same problem you have.
The problem is not from Plex. It is from the shield, so they can do nothing about it.
