Plex never shows my external hard drive as a PMS location when I go to change the storage location for the Plex media server.
I have a 16gb Nvidia shield, and plex reads my media libraries fine off of the external drive. I am running out of internal space on the 16 GB drive and would like to move the storage location to my external drive. But unfortunately, it is not showing up!?
Please help!
Server Version#:v.133.8.5395
Player Version#:7.27.1.15203
I don’t think I can change the Plex media server data directory? To clarify, all my media is on my External Hard drive. My plex media server on my Nvidia shield reads all of that fine.
The issue is the PMS data directory is in my internal storage. I need to move it to external, but my drive is not showing up when I select Settings>Plex Media Server>Storage Location
Oh ok. That won’t allow you to choose a specific location, only the drive. It should show external drive as an option. Can you provide a screenshot of what choices you do see?
Similar issue as me, i set up plex on nvidia shield used 500gb ex hdd for my media, works fine, but when i try using a different 1tb hdd it loses all connection to server and no option to enable 1tb hdd.
Not getting much help tbh
I think you meant 1.13.8. That’s an old version. Try updating to the recent one and see if that helps. If you don’t see a newer version in the Play Store on the Shield, try using a web browser from a regular desktop computer to visit the Play Store, then push the recent version to your Shield.
