Unable to open Plex Media Server

I lost all contents on my hard drive and I didn’t have my library backed up. I’ve been working on this library for over 10 years and have added lots of extra information and covers for movies so I didn’t wish to start all over again. I found a copy from a little over a year ago when I was switching computers and copied the Plex Media Server folder from the library/application support directory. Once copied I tried opening Plex Media Server and it directed me to download the latest version. I did and moved it to the applications folder but it won’t open. When I open Plex it continually looks for the server and gives me an option to download the latest (which I already did).

Is there a step that I’m missing?

Did you possibly use a different Plex account in the old setup (taken from your backup)?

No I’ve had the same account since I began using Plex.

to add some more background - losing everything on my hard drive happened many months ago. Its embarrassing but I’ve only gotten around to attempting to retrieve my library today. Was frustrated with what happened and also life took over. Has there been significant changes to Plex? I’m using an M1 iMac running osx 12.6 Monterey.

How are you currently trying to access your server?
Can you try opening http://127.0.0.1:32400/web from the same machine?
