Unable to open recent installation of Plex Media Server

Hello,

I am having trouble opening Plex Media Server on my laptop.

It has installed with no issues, but when I try to launch the application it will not open. I notice when I do attempt to open the application, that the Plex icon appears in the taskbar at the bottom, but is disappears before I am able to click on it.

I have checked other topics in the forum and have followed a number of processes, which have worked for others. I however, cannot access the application at all, despite my efforts.

I have had the Plex Media Server installed on another laptop (my old one), will this be causing any issues with launching the application?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

It sounds like it didn’t update properly. Try uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have uninstalled and re installed the application many times and it does not seem to have rectified the issue.

Get me the PMS logs using the manual method described in https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/.

I am unable to access the PMS logs from within the WebApp, as I don’t seem to have the ‘Troubleshoot’ option? However, I have located them on my PC. There are a fair few files, including a folder. The folder says ‘Installer Logs’ and the files say ‘Plex Crash Uploader’ and ‘Plex Media Server’. There are more than one of each of these files.

Zip them all up and upload that zip file.

Plex Crash Uploader.2.zip (4.2 MB)

I am having the same issue. I have used plex for years with no issues but the last few months, I haven’ been able to open the plex media server on my PC. I uninstalled and reinstalled but it will not open…

Just wondering if you are any further forward with a solution to my problem? Thank you.

Lost my server also, did the update then lost sever connection. Had to delete the entire sever and reload an older firmware on my QNAP. Seriously think it was the last firmware update.

I will definitely not run anything but 1 version back from now on. This is bad.
