Unable to play media shows on latest shield plex client

I have been trying to play 4K movies with 5.1 audio. On PMS in transcode I have set options to disable video streaming checked. Hardware acceleration options are both disabled. I have no trouble playing videos on Samsung TV with Vizio sound bar on shield. However, on LG TV with no sound bar just TV stereo speakers I get UNABLE TO PLAY MEDIA message also with a shield.

If I uninstall all updates from plex client on the shield it works perfect as factory setting app, obviously using the old player. But when I update the app I can’t play these movies anymore on either the new or old player.

Any tips? Is this a bug with the new player?

This seems to be a problem with the new player. I can see my videos perfect with VLC even with PSG subtitles on Nvidia Shield. But on plex either I get an Unable to play media message or it buffers for a very long time and freezes every 3 seconds, depending on my transcode settings in PMS. However resetting plex client to factory settings with old player everything plays fine. The new player is the only player that won’t play my 4K media.

Any help appreciated.
