Shield will not play any local content

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
Player Version#: 7.26.0.14578

Server is a debian headless.

My shield (OG, not the new one) decided a couple days ago to not play anything but livetv everything I try says “Playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media Server has been lost…”

Plex Web, Roku and my Phone seem fine.
On the Shield, Live TV and the free plex movie thing works.

would this be a PMS rollback or a Shield app rollback?

I’ve got exactly the same issue with a lot of my content. Did you find a solution ? Im going to delete the app on the Shield and reinstall it

So I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it using uninstall latest version and it reset Plex back to 5.x. The video played. So I updated the app and enabled the new player and the error displayed again.

So I turned the new video player off in the settings,restarted the app (force stop) and it works again playing videos.

There’s an option to uninstall updates. That’s what I’ll attempt and report back.

Same here, playback is now allowed, I guess we need to stay like this until a non borked player version.

I might try and see if I can sideload a previous version, since 5.XX is seriously behind.

I upgraded to the latest version, enabled the new player and it broke. So I disabled the new player in the advanced settings. To make sure the settings change was loaded I forced the app to stop (Force Stop) Opened the app and it then plays the content with the old player fine.

UPDATE: I eventually discovered that I have a DNS Rebinding issue on my router and I followed this post https://support.plex.tv/articles/206225077-how-to-use-secure-server-connections/ and allowed plex.direct on my pfsense firewall - everything now works and I can use the new player

Im also having this issue. So do I need to remove updates @huntsj17 I didn’t find disable the new player option.

If you navigate to Settings -> Advanced -> Enable New Video plater and make sure it is off. Then Force Stop the app and restart it. If you don’t have the Enable New Video Player option then are you on the latest version ? Try updating to the latest version and then disable it.

@huntsj17 maybe it is cuz its on my Android phone i cant find it?

This is for the nvidia shield, running Android tv not a phone.
