Unable to play mediad due to 'EAE' error

This only started recently, but when I attempt to play back some media (not all) I get the following output in my logs and the media is unable to play. This is on web player, Android app, roku, etc. Seems server side so same outcome regardless of the player.

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309

Thanks. I found it immediately. Your media library has more than 8192 directories being monitored. The Linux default table size is 8192. It’s easy to increase.

Here is my How-To.

Increase the number of directories Linux can monitor (Notify)

The default size of the Linux inotify table is 8192 directories. When PMS is configured to update automatically when media is added, with properly organized media, especially music, this table rapidly fills and exceeds the default allocation. The solution to this is straight forward. Increasing the table size is easy. The first step is to determine how many directories to allocate, A. Disabling the “Scan my Library automatically” did the trick…
HOWEVER…
All my Media is from Network shares and afaik the iNotify table only affects local folders, so i dont get why this cause the issue…
Nevertheless this should be mentioned in the log file so we can easily identify the real cause and don’t have to search around. This needs to be addressed in a fix of PMS.

I’m not understanding your issue but without log files, I don’t know what you see as a problem which needs to be addressed in a fix of PMS.
