Unable to play music remotely (Plex nor Plexamp). I can play 4K movies just fine on Iphone 15. I’m using Tailscale to create the remote access. I started from scratch and deleted the Plex Server from a Win 11 machines and installed the server on another Win 11 and have the same problem. There’s no VPN or anything.
I created another (free) account and it works for music and movies remotely but my lifetime Plex Pass account won’t play music (movies yes) . Makes no sense. Anybody have an idea’r what may be happening?
Is it possible that you have selected a media source that is on one of the deleted Plex server instances of yours?
I’d enter the library selector in Plexamp and make sure that the right server is selected as media source.
On the regular mobile plex app, remove the music library from the side bar and pin it anew. https://support.plex.tv/articles/customizing-the-mobile-apps-2/
If either app doesn’t show your new server instance (you might wanna give it a unique “friendly name” to be able to tell it apart), then log out from the mobile app, restart the device and log in anew. This new log in is supposed to refresh the server list and give you a list of libraries which are actually reachable.
I had been thinking about getting a NAS and installing Plex on a NAS and so I did so. Installing Plex on a Synology DS224+ and music is now working remotely. Why it stopped working on my Win 11 PC dunno.
