Hello,
I want to use Plex Media Server to store my media files on my home computer,
and share them with my Sister’s family at their house, using the Plex app on their TV.
I purchased the Remote Watch Pass, which I believe that I need in order to do this.
However, on my Sister’s TV, I can see my account, the libraries, and the movies,
but when I click on a movie, all I get is a black screen with a loading symbol,
and the movie never plays.
I have TMobile Home Internet, which I know doesn’t support UPnP/port forwarding.
I installed Tailscale on my home computer and my Sister’s TV, but that didn’t seem
to make a difference.
What can I do to get Plex to work on my Sister’s TV?
We used to use Plex when it was free to remote watch, and liked Plex’s interface
a lot more than Emby’s.
I don’t know if it helps or not, but I also installed the Plex app on my phone,
and when I’m not on my home’s WiFi connection, it initially says that my account
doesn’t have any libraries, but when I go to my account, it says I’m offline,
and when I click on retry connection and go back to my libraries, the libraries
and movie files are visible.
I have to do that each time I open the Plex app on my phone, but at least I can
view my files eventually.
