My one requirement for Plex is to be able to cast (remote control via WiFi) from my Android phone to my PC.
My setup is PC (as a streamer) to a nice DAC (via toslink) to a tube integrated amp. I sit across the room and cast (to avoid repeated dashing across the room to choose the next song) from my Android phone.
No problems at all, casting local content.
Signed on to Tidal yesterday then added that subscription to my Plex Pass account.
I can’t get my phone to cast Tidal to my PC, (see attached msg screenshot).
Yes, I’ve got the Plex app running on the PC.
How to I get this to work
Sounds like the same problem I’m having. Have always been able to play my mp3’s on my 2 channel system by casting from my phone to a pc which is connected to my amp. Same message as you got with Tidal. I’ll await what the Plex experts have as a solution.
I’ve scanned through the forums and found numerous (see below), ignored and closed, posts over the last few years, on this very subject. With all the holiday promotions from Tidal and Plex, currently running, one would hope that the good folks at Plex would iron this out sooner than later.
