Unable to play videos with HEVC codec on my Amazon Fire HD tablet

I installed PLEX Player on my Amazon FireHD device and I noticed I cannot play any video coded in HEVC. They are all 1080p and even I checked the specs of the tablet and seems it’s compatible with this codec, all that I get is an “Content couldn’t be played” error.

There’s no problem when playing x264 videos.

All play options are set to Maximum or Original quality as my NAS is not able to transcode files. But I never had any issue playing videos in other devices (iPad, Xiaomi Mi TV, Google Chromecast,…).

Is there anything I could do to get those files to be played?
