From time to time I’m unable to reach my server while away on a desktop. It just says “The server is currently unavailable”
When I check on the Android app or the web player via mobile browser, it works fine and it shows all green in Remote Access.
Both the server desktop and the remote one are running on W10.
The issue might be caused by the internet connection you are using for your remote laptop. Unless you are good friends with the owner or the network admin of that network, there is not much you can do to improve the situation.
What you can try is to edit the network connection’s properties on that laptop and set the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (that’s Google’s). Though it might not work or interfere with other things on your laptop if you are also using VPN software and similar things as well.
Our company firewall settings block most ports so I can only use Plex at work if I using port forwarding to 80. Not sure if that is your issue.
Tried again today. Since I don’t have any admin rights I can’t change the connection settings at all.
One thing I noticed is that for a brief moment when launching web app it displays the “Allow Insecure Connection” button and then it disappears.
Last week I could just click there and the server would load normally.

Yet another great example that PLEX powers that be took this great platform that developers and users created and thought “WOW this is reallly cool” and stole it made it closed source, so they could make some sellout deal with WB or time warner or who ever it was that bought heir houses and in return we lost MAJOR functionalities. For example by reply: would you rather have Plex 3rd Party Plug Ins or the Ability to Watch A Weekend at Bernies part 2 complete with commercials ? (OK maybe replace WAB 2 with like Tremors 8 lol because that movie was pretty redonkulous) My point is Plex did this and now theyu blow smoke up my ■■■■ telling us that its due to functionality, ,aybe the fujnctionality of your checking accounts have cotten better. BUT as you can see the only GOOD IDEA are still coming from out side of plex. I reccoment leaving and possibly looking into Emby or Maybe jellyfish will become what plex could have been what they almost were. plex makes me sick now i com here to check to see if all the great promises have come true. All I see is more BS and less Coolness. I mean now remote servers are going? Time to make I HATE PLEX SHirts. Hey Plex you think you can loan me some money to make shirts that say I hate Plex
