I only recently started having a problem running Plex for Mac (the macOS app with the exact interface as the web UI, not Plex Media Player). The problem is as follows: when I launch the app, the app launches on the dock. The menu bar on the top also switches to Plex. But the window doesn’t appear. It’s not running on other desktops nor on fullscreen mode either. I tried reinstalling the app (moving the app to the trash and downloading from the web) but couldn’t get it running. Maybe I didn’t reinstall it completely? Are there folders and system files that I have to delete in order to completely uninstall Plex for Mac?
Also, could anyone help me bring up to speed with the latest clients available for macOS High Sierra? A few months ago I found out that Plex Home Theater is decomissioned, and replaced with Plex for Mac. But now I see 2 options for using Plex on macOS: Plex for Mac and Plex Media Player? Which one should I use? Also, I noticed that Plex Media Player has a mode to switch to “desktop layout” (same exact view as web UI) as opposed to “TV Layout”. Is one of those two being phased out?
