I’m wanting to host a watch party and I tested the Watch Together feature on my PC and it works alright I was able to invite my friend who has library access. So I go to my Nvidia Shield box and load up Plex and select Watch Together on some content and it only shows managed users I have setup locally, none of my friends I have added show up. I’ve restarted the server, the client, cleared the client’s cache, updated everything, confirmed watch together still works on the web client but no go, it only shows managed users on the TV. I’ve done some Google-Fu to no avail and I am at my wit’s end. I don’t want to start a Watch Together session on my computer when I have a nice home theater. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I might resolve this issue?
And you are definitely using the same user that you used on Plex web? I just tried now and I can see both my managed users and friends on Android TV
Yes, I made sure it was the correct Plex account and I made sure I was logged in as the primary (admin) user, same as using the web client. I also tried the windows client last night and was able to invite a friend. When I did that I left the Watch Together session running and was then able to see and join the session from my Android TV box but I still could not initiate a new Watch Together session with that same friend from the Android TV box - their name just doesn’t show up in the list of people I can invite. The only ones that show up are managed users I created. I am going to fully clear the data and cache and reinstall the Plex app and see if that resolves the issue.
Please let me know if clearing the data of the app helped?
