Hey Guys!
I hope you are all keeping safe and doing well, I just have a quick question about how Plex Media Server’s work with Watch Together Sessions. My friend hosts a Plex Server on an additional computer hosting various media files for everyone. I have a Plex server too, so we are connected via “Users and Sharing - Friends” system and that works for inviting each other to watch.
For out other friends, who didn’t have a plex account and just creating one for this purpose, we made them as “managed users” under the host account so they can watch the content with us and have the same content. While they have access to watch the hosted media and we start Watch Together their name is listed to join the session, but the don’t see the option to join the session in “Home” at all once logged in. But when they made their own individual Plex account and connected as “Friends” under plex then it worked.
Can you explain to me why this is the case? Anything we are missing to get this working?
