Unable to setup Remote Access for my Plex server installed in Synology

Server Version#: Version 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#: IOS18, latest app

Hello,

I am unable to get my plex server configured to be accessed remotely. My server is deployed in synology NAS using docker, following the trash guides. I am using port forwarding method to configure remote access.

Here is what I have followed:-

  1. ensured there is no double NAT by running traceroute and confirming there is only private IP in the path. I am using an ISP router + mesh router system and the router is configured in bridge mode.
  2. The Port forwarding rule is configured in the mesh router to forward to the chosen port.
  3. The container is running with host network_mode so the server is showing the correct private IP of my NAS
  4. There is only one connected network interface and preferred network interface is set to that.
  5. To add to the above, my public IP address is not in the 100.64.0.0/10 CIDR range so CG-NAT is also not an issue

Despite trying multiple times, I am unable to get this to work and not sure how to proceed. Would appreciate some guidance on this issue for things I could check further.

Thanks

Just like math class show the output of your traceroute, you can blank the last two octets of the public if concerned need to see first 3 for private.

What is make/model of the ISP router and Mesh? The router needs to forward the port from the internet, bridge mode usually creates problems. It is better to run the ISP router as a router and the mesh as an AP.

ISP router is a Nokia G-2425G-A
Mesh is a TPLink Deco system with the main router being TPLink Deco XE75

I was having DoubleNAT issue earlier but got my ISP to change my router to bridge mode(needed some change from their end) and offladed PPPoE to my TPlink mesh router. Not sure if I can revert back as that would require making the change from ISP end again which has been cumbersome

Check port status in https://www.canyouseeme.org/

Are you still able to add a Port forward rule on the Nokia? While not in the CGNAT range, PPPoE means your IP is subject to change and you might have to track it to know when to restart Plex to pick up the change.
