Unable to start or connect to PMS on Nvidia Shield

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319 (smb)
Player Version#: 8.26.2.29389

Starting maybe 2 days ago (December 13, 2021) I have been unable to connect to my PMS that is hosted on an nVidia Shield TV (2018 version I believe). I have restarted the device multiple times to no avail so last night I tried to go through regular app steps (i.e. clear cache, clear data, force stop and reboot). At best I could see the PMS was Offline, when I set it to “Run” it changed status to “Running” but I would be unable to connect via browser. When I returned to the setting screen, I was no longer shown the options for the media server. The heading was present with no icons.

When that failed, I deleted the server from “https://app.plex.tv” then uninstalled all updates and tried to setup fresh. During setup I would be told no servers available, which seemed normal since it was meant to be a fresh install.
I was able to at least start the server, but still unable to connect via browser. I’m not sure what to do from here as I am not able to get a server started. I see previous posts with similar symptoms but no clear instructions to resolve the issue. It seems in many of those instances the server just randomly started to work.

Any advice or instruction is appreciated. Thanks!

Can you access the server using the Shield’s local IP address?
e.g. http://[Shield IP]:32400/web

No luck, I rolled back to base install version of

Player version: 5.6.1.505 (25ece77b)
Server version: 1.4.3.3433

Still no luck in connecting from intranet. At best I get the background to turn black but still no connection completed. I did confirm that it was running because when I go to app.plex.tv, I now see a new entry for a PMS

Can you verify you’re on the same subnet when accessing the bundled version of Plex Web (http://:32400/web)? Some routers will compartment different network segments despite using the same subnet (e.g. if you’re using a guest WLAN)

PS: not sure rolling back to an ancient release will do you any good; this might just make things more complicated
