Unable to stream recorded television shows on Roku and Windows desktop clients

For about the last 2 weeks, when I try to replay a recorded television show, in the Roku app, it never loads (33%) - On Windows, the icon spins and never provides any feedback. I can go to my media library on a windows device, and play the media with a windows player and it works fine. Within Plex, I can watch media I have created, and I can also watch live TV, and movies that are available to me. I’ve been recording live TV for years and have never had this issue before.

On the Roku client’s Plex app, check Settings → Video. There should be a couple of MPEG2 options; try enabling both of them to see if it helps.

As far as I know, the Plex desktop app for Windows should do fine with MPEG2VIDEO streams, so I don’t have anything to offer off the top of my head. Except maybe to ensure you’re using the actual desktop app and not a browser.

On my Roku client(s), I enabled the MPEG2 settings and it’s solved my issue. It also works natively within the Windows client, thanks for pointing out the client, I had neglected to update that. Thanks for your assistance!
