Unable to sync Windows server with NvIdia Shield app

Yesterday for no apparent reason the Plex app on my Nvidia Shield started freezing and crashing when I attempted to watch stored films or tv or record any tv. Strangely, it was working fine on the Windows server app. Today after a lot of experimenting I finally just deleted it from my Shield (which took forever to do, as the Shield wouldn’t let me. I had to go into my server app first and delete it from there). I then re-installed it again on Shield. The re-installed Shield app found the Windows server, but it looks like a very basic, crude version and there is no category of “Live TV an DVR” listed. Can anyone help me re: why it’s not updating to what’s on my Windows server? I’ve signed out and then signed in again, thinking it would update it, and it doesn’t change anything. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been a Plex user for close to 9 years now as well as a Plex Pass subscriber, and I’m about ready to throw in the towel with this program. Plex is just not consistently stable and continually needs to be reconfigured in one way or another at least every two weeks.

You need to update it using the “app store” app.

Thanks, Otto. I couldn’t find what was causing it, so I finally deleted all servers, the app, and re-installed everything again. It’s working fine right now, until the next malfunction.
