Unable to tune Netstream4 sat DVR channels

Hi
I have Netstream4 sat - and I’m hoping you can at least analyse these log file lines to let me know if there is something easy/obvious to fix these issues? I keep getting the Could Not Tune Channel - check your tuner/antenna errors:

The logs I think that need understanding:

Any advice here would be great! Just so I know to either keep trying to get the Netstream4Sat to work or send it back… and forget about having Freesat in the PLEX PVR :frowning:
Thanks
Alessandro

I have the latest build of Plex Version 1.32.6.7521
Synology DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 2

We do not support Satellite - but if it works then that would be ok for you to use it - see Supported DVR Tuners and Antennas | Plex Support

Please provide whole set of Server Logs - the zip that you get from Download Logs - captured just after attempting to tune a channel. Best is to start the test with a fresh launch of Plex Media Server so that fresh logs are created

Also details of what lineup/guide is being used - and country and zip code used during DVR Setup. If xmltv, provide the xmltv file

Hi @sa2000
Thanks - yes, I do realise you don’t support it - but the device was listed as working in the Community Supported Tuners

Plex Media Server Logs_2023-09-21_14-29-16.zip (3.7 MB)

I use an XMLTV file - and I’m in UK for Freesat (Post Code CT1)

Using Astra 28.2E.

The ios app for netstream works just fine.

freesat.xml.zip (529.4 KB)

The guide is displaying fine in Plex as is the Tuner

Thanks

All I can see is that the transcoder got an error response code of 5xx - could be 503 or 502 - can’t tell

The transcoder communication to the DVR is through the Plex Tuner Service process - DVR detected on IP 192.168.1.174

Example of the error logged by the transcoder
Sep 21, 2023 14:29:04.870 [139802580441912] ERROR - [Req#199/Transcode/9948cbf9-2d89-456a-82fc-f8f53e3f698c/0d1f6587-13b1-436b-95d9-eacc18684d9c] http://127.0.0.1:32600/devices/dvb%23sat2ip%232%23uuid%3a546f6d62-000c-6c0b-064a-656c6761746f/media/triplet%3A%2F%2F2%3A2041%3A9241?param=%3C%3Fxml%20version%3D%221%2E0%22%20encoding%3D%22UTF-8%22%3F%3E%0A%3Ctunedata%3E%3Ctt%3E1%3C%2Ftt%3E%3Cdq%3E0%3C%2Fdq%3E%3Cdr%2F%3E%3Cfr%3E10714000%3C%2Ffr%3E%3Cmd%3E0%3C%2Fmd%3E%3Csr%3E22000000%3C%2Fsr%3E%3Cpl%3E0%3C%2Fpl%3E%3Clf%3E9750000%3C%2Flf%3E%3Cl1%3E9750000%3C%2Fl1%3E%3Cl2%3E10600000%3C%2Fl2%3E%3Cls%3E11700000%3C%2Fls%3E%3Cpp%3E0%3C%2Fpp%3E%3Chz%3E0%3C%2Fhz%3E%3Cin%3E0%3C%2Fin%3E%3Cfc%3E86%3C%2Ffc%3E%3Ct%3E2041%3C%2Ft%3E%3Cn%3E2%3C%2Fn%3E%3Cs%3E9241%3C%2Fs%3E%3Cen%3E0%3C%2Fen%3E%3C%2Ftunedata%3E%0A: Server returned 5XX Server Error reply

Decoded this would translate to
http://127.0.0.1:32600/devices/dvb#sat2ip#2#uuid:546f6d62-000c-6c0b-064a-656c6761746f/media/triplet://2:2041:9241?param=<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <tunedata><tt>1</tt><dq>0</dq><dr/><fr>10714000</fr><md>0</md><sr>22000000</sr><pl>0</pl><lf>9750000</lf><l1>9750000</l1><l2>10600000</l2><ls>11700000</ls><pp>0</pp><hz>0</hz><in>0</in><fc>86</fc><t>2041</t><n>2</n><s>9241</s><en>0</en></tunedata>

You could dig deeper if you have means of capturing the network traffic on the server and see what response code was returned by the DVR to this request and follow that up.

I don’t know if you have means to establish how their app tunes this channel and what gets sent

You mentioned it showed as working within the community supported DVRs list, you could reach out there and see how that was achieved

@alexcampo74 moved the posts from Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna into a new forum topic here
