I can tune successfully to channel 4 using the WinTV 10 Hauppauge app that lives on the same machine as the server.
I can also tune to the channel on my TV that’s connected to the same antenna. No problems.
But, I’ve never been able to connect to the channel through Plex itself. The previous thread considered copy protection. Would Hauppauge’s app successfully handle CP? I also installed a pre-amp: Winegard LNA-200 Boost XT HDTV Preamplifier.
Have you tried deleting the DVR from your PMS and then adding the Hauppauge tuners back in with new channel scans? You may want to reboot the computer between deleting the DVR and adding the tuners back in just in case windows is holding on to some old data, Deleting the DVR will not affect your libraries,
I don’t know how well the Hauppauge tuners work with Windows and Plex. I’ve only used Ubuntu Server with them. They work great in Ubuntu.
I have, unfortunately. I have reseated, deleted/reinstalled drivers, deleted from PMS, etc.
The part that strikes me as odd is that the Hauppauge app tunes the channel perfectly fine. So, clearly the tuner is fine and so is my server. It’s just Plex that is having issues.
You may have already tried this, but just a thought. Have you tried totally removing the Hauppauge App, any drivers, and any registry entries, and then only installing the drivers that the tuner needs to work with Plex on Windows? If everything is removed, then on reboot Windows should prompt you for the drivers for the tuner, which you then direct it find the drivers in the location that you’ve saved them. The drivers should be available from the Hauppauge Support page.
During the times when you can’t tune a specific channel, is there a way you can check to see if that channel has DRM enabled?? I was trying to watch an OTA NFL game some time ago and I couldn’t. I checked my channel lineup on the HDHR app and it showed DRM enabled. After the game the DRM flag went away. and I could tune the channel again.
IMHO I think the FCC should make a rule that if what you are broadcasting, weather it be OTA or on cable, is supported by advertisements, then you are prohibited from enabling any form of DRM. If it is a non-commercial supported subscription service then you are free and clear to use DRM.
You might try ChuckPa’s Database Repair Tool. https://github.com/ChuckPa/DBRepair. If there is something corrupted in the database, this tool might help. Someone else running server-windows had a similar issue after their power was knocked out. It corrupted their database.
I have the same issue UnRaid Server with BinHex Plex container. ABC channel 4.1 - 4.3 the only stations that have problems. Disney the parent Co. I would bet has something to do with it . Can trick into playing by switching guide data from chan 104 to ch 4 but no sound. Someone posted that in another location and they had luck with it.
