Unable to update Plex Player for Mac

When I relaunch the Plex Player and it tries to update it fails and says there is an update problem with this message:

There was a problem installing the update:

Unable to create symlink /Applications/Plex.app.new/Contents/Resources/qml/QtQml/Models/libmodelsplugin.dylib to …/…/…/…/PlugIns/quick/libmodelsplugin.dylib details: File exists

How can I fix this?

The easiest solution is likely to just download the app and replace your copy with the freshly downloaded one.
