Plex Mac App Won't Update

Server Version: 1.40.5.8921
Player Version: 1.99.0.210-2d92b948

Running on Sonoma 14.6.1 on a MacBook Air M1.

Usually after I see an update to the Mac app pushed, if I open the Plex app, quit and open it again the update starts. At most, I have to wait a few minutes.

I have been trying to get it updated since the day of release yet nothing, I can play movies, or just let the app stay idle for hours, quit, open it again and nothing happens.

Any idea why or what’s happening? I thought it could have been a staged rollout but quite some time has passed and on Windows devices and all the others it seems to work fine.

Mine didn’t update either, I went and did it manually and just replaced the app in the applications folder and it’s working fine. Hope it auto updates next time.

Same thing happen again after the latest update. I guess the apps don’t check for updates anymore. Plex for Mac, Windows, and Linux - #128 by rubenamorim

Same issue here as well. Let’s see if anyone from the team can chime in.

I have opened a new thread since I didn’t stumble upon this one, and I tried to search.
Just to say that I have the same issue for let’s say past 3 months.
