The problem with the audio is related to 5.1, it’s not a problem with the server or media file, it’s to do with the Plex Player on PS4 which handles Linear PCM, Dolby and DTS. AAC 5.1 isn’t supported so the server sends the video via direct play and tries to transcode the audio on the fly which is causes the issue. Xbox One Plex player supports AAC 5.1, i’ll have to do more research on PS4
Is there any update on this? This happens very frequently and ONLY with TV shows on my PS4 Plex Player. I’ll be halfway through an episode and then all of a sudden the audio is COMPLETELY out of sync. If we’ve identified the issue as AAC 5.1 not being supported, why has it been YEARS and Plex still hasn’t fixed this???
