Unclaimed Server

my server reset and since then I have had to re link account on plea but keep getting unclaimed server when there is none and it won’t let me log in can anyone help me

I think the unclaimed server might be a glitch in newest update because I keep getting it also. I would maybe downgrade to an earlier version to see if it fixes it

how do i downgrade and have you done it and does it work

Operating System & Version please?

I have the plex server as a plug in on freeness is there anyway to upgrade or downgrade the plugin to fix the unclaimed server issue

“unclaimed” is the server informing you the server is not associated with anyone’s account. (there is no “PlexOnlineUsername” in the Preferences.xml file. )

To “fix” it, sign it into your Plex.tv account (which you say you cannot do). BSD, being Unix, has the same UID/GID based permission found in Linux (Unix came first).

If you’ve ‘reset’. have you confirmed all files under /var/lib/plexmediaserver are owned by user plex:plex ? If uncertain, su to root (or sudo) and execute chown -R plex:plex /var/lib/plexmediaserver and then restart it

I can log into my account but i cant claim the server as when I try and log in then claim the server it says trouble signing in. Im pretty tech savy ish but never some across this before. where you say plex:plex is that my username, sounds daft but if you could do my a step by step to fix it that would be amazing and would forever be in your debt… Also be nice to know how to prevent it from happening again.

I’ve also seen this in a QuickBox install on a headless Linux Ubuntu 16.04 box. Just had to ssh on local host:8888 to reclaim.

Happened a few times so definitely seems like a 1.7.3 bug.

danjames92 can you tell me how to do this, its doing my head in just want rid so i can use my server again
