my provider has unencrypted a large number of channels during the holidays. the extra channels work without any problem on both our tv, but in Plex the channels are still listed as protected, and I am unable to enable them… What to do?
Did you check if your provider needs to update the card to see these changes? Sometimes, these cards are hard coded with that info.
Edit - Anytime there’s a change on you provider side, you’ll also need to rescan the channels in Plex, have you tried that?
There is not card, the encryption have removed. If have tried to rescan several times and also remove the tuner as a source and reinstall it again… however the end result is the same, all new channels are stil listed as procted, eventhough they are not☹️
It’s possible the channel is unencrypted, but it may still be DRM protected. These are not the same things. Try connecting the line to your TV and see if you can tune to that channel.
You can also check by using the HDHomeRun’s app and see if that can tune to that channel.
