Unexpected Playback Error On LG TV For Any 4K File

Trying to determine if this is something I can resolve server side, or if it is a limitation of the TV or server hardware. This seems to happen for any 4K file that I have. They do play OK on other TV brands and devices.

Snippet below is taken from the Server Console when trying to play a file.

You can ignore this. The app does not use profiles so it won’t find one.

This and the rest are related to hardware transcoding not working/being available on your server. PMS should fall back to software transcoding, but would need to see the rest of the logs to check if that isn’t working.

Ah OK, thanks for the information. I appreciate the response.

HW transcoding does work on my server, via Quick Sync (confirmed via Dashboard and Tautulli for HD/SD content). Although I don’t believe it would be capable of transcoding 4K video, but that’s not what I’m hoping to achieve here.

This was attempting to direct stream the files on the LG. The same files direct stream OK on other TV brands and devices, so I am just trying to determine why they all fail on the LG. I wasn’t sure if perhaps there is a limitation of the webOS version of the Plex app.

I didn’t have debug logging enabled, and I’ll have to coordinate with the TV owner to try again before I can grab a set of logs.
